The new site looks great...as with all new things, there will be changes made regularly... especially as we are continually trying to improve it. So here is an all call for feedback. How do you like the new home page? This home page is intended to be updated at least once a month, so if you have any special ideas for the month of March or April, please let me know.

What do you like about the new website and what do you wish was different? With the new structure, there are some things we cannot change, but who knows, maybe you have an idea that we can use and will improve our site. So feel free to share your ideas.

  2. Nav Links moved around

Our newsletter creator, Laura, noticed that the drop down menu on the left side of the home page was not working on her Mac. I guess this was due to the new social networking stuff I had added there.

Since I really want to have this site become more and more interactive, my work around was to play musical chairs with the nav links. I switched them around so there is not a drop down menu on the left side any longer.

Please post any ideas or problems with our new site here on this blog.

  5. The new web-site looks great! Something you may want to consider is having a list of the dogs at each show location as we used to have on the old web-site. Now, potential adopters have to click on each animal they are interested in to see which location they will be at. If they are not sure what they are looking for at least they will have a list for each adoption show. Just an idea! Keep up the great work. It really does look wonderful!!

  6. Roberta, I will talk with Terri SV about creating a location report automatically. In the past we have discussed the possibility that she may be able write a program to list locations in a report format every week after a set day & time. I do know that Terri would need to have a day & time cut off to hard code into the program.

We can ask Terri Clark and Linda if they can commit to a day & time cut-off on an on-going basis. Pre-PP they used to have a Wed or Thurs cut off since the information had to be hand coded into the web page. So I image this may not be a problem but let's get them involved in this discussion. And also can you ask the adoption coordinators when would be the latest cut-off time that they could work with?

And of course, all this is assuming Terri SV can write the program as I do not know how to code in PHP good enough do to this. :-)

  7. Roberta, Terri C. indicates that show list is about 95% accurate by Thursday night. She continues to make updates up to Sat. shows.

  8. I actually update as soon as I hear from the fosters. Roberta, when people found a dog that they were interested in before, they had to go from the dog's picture to the list. If they found another, they would have to go to a 2nd place for the location. Now, the info is all together.
